The Truth About Midlife
Society treats midlife like an awkward dentist appointment—something to dread, endure, and get through while pretending everything’s fine. But let’s be honest: that’s total BS.
Midlife isn’t the end of the road—it’s your reset button. It’s your chance to say “Screw the script” and start writing a story that actually matters to you. A story where you stop prioritizing everyone else’s expectations and finally focus on what lights you up.
This isn’t about chasing perfection or Instagram-worthy moments. It’s about taking all the messy, WTF experiences—sandwich squeezes, hot flashes, and “what the hell am I even doing with my life?” realizations—and using them as fuel to build something bold, fun, and unapologetically yours.
And let’s get one thing straight: this isn’t one of those spaces where you’ll find “just stay positive!” platitudes or “you’ve got this!” fluff. No, this is where Gen X women come to get real and figure out how to navigate midlife without completely losing our minds.
Here, you’ll find:
-
Practical tools for prioritizing yourself without drowning in guilt.
-
Real talk about midlife's highs, lows, and all the WTF moments in between.
-
The Screw It Chronicles, a no-BS, no-fluff guide to ditching The Script and building a life that actually feels like YOU.
-
Kickass merch that says: “Yeah, I’m doing life my way, deal with it.” Wear it, sip from it or stash your stuff in it —because bold living deserves bold swag.
Midlife isn’t a punishment—it’s an opportunity. So let’s stop enduring, start owning, and blaze a trail worth following. 🔥
About Me, Line Heggelund
Here’s the short version:
I was born in Bergen, Norway, in 1968, and spent my teenage years soaking up sunburns and culture shock in Daytona Beach, USA.
I’m a mother of three, fostermom of five, and somehow still living with the guy I shacked up with in 1989.
I’ve been an entrepreneur since 2003, doing everything you’re “supposed to do” to be successful: grow the business, hire people and scale.
And guess what? I hated it. I made decent money, sure, but the hamster wheel sucked my soul dry. So in 2008, we said, “Screw this,” and escaped to a small farm outside Tønsberg, Norway. We traded boardrooms for barnyards, filling our little slice of paradise with cats, dogs, horses, chickens, and yes—alpacas.
Sounds dreamy, doesn’t it? Well, not exactly. Enter the financial crisis, it slammed into us like a freight train, and we spent years scraping by, holding on by our fingernails. But here’s the thing: we didn’t just survive—we came out tougher, wiser, and more determined than ever.
For the last decade, our little farm has been a stress-free sanctuary—a place where people come to recharge, reconnect, and get coaching without the noise of everyday life. It’s not about fancy programs or complicated systems. It’s about stepping away from the chaos, hanging out with some animals, and finding your balance again.
It’s not that I’ve cracked some magical code to life or business. My superpower is simpler: I’m not afraid to try, and I’m not afraid to fail. Because failure is not a death sentence, it's where the lessons live and the good stuff happens: the lessons, the growth, the “oh crap, now I know better” moments. It’s proof you’re in the game, moving forward while others are too scared to even start.
So yeah, I’m making bold statements because I’ve lived them. I’ve built things up, watched them crash, and clawed my way back.
And I know this: midlife isn’t the end of the story—it’s the part where you stop giving a damn about what you “should” do and start living the way you actually want to.
If that resonates with you, welcome. Let’s screw the script and write something worth reading🔥
